Sunny Sunday

Just checking in on this beautiful day. It started gloomy and even sprinkled a bit as Missy and I were taking a brisk stroll yesterday. Then it turned beautiful and clear - even warm! We took the kids and dog to the park yesterday and had a good time.

Then a delicious dinner and had friends over for a little bit of Rock Band. It's still gorgeous today, so I ran a few errands and sat outside of Starbucks with their YUMMY new black cherry frapp. The sun feels beautiful...enjoy your weekend!

Bridezilla

So...I'm an engaged woman now. I'm really happy, it just hasn't quite kicked in yet. The knowledge that Chris wants to get married as soon as possible, which could mean THIS year, which means we should start planning, saving, etc., for it. We haven't told the kids yet: not really the best time, so in a few months, things will really be going underway. I tried to make a wedding guest list, but it just feels too soon. Don't get me wrong, I'm definately a planner, but I've barely been engaged a full 24 hours.
I can already tell that because I'm so head-strong, I may be a little bit of a difficult bride-to-be. I'm not huge on weddings, it's not one of those "dreams" I dreamed as a little girl, more like passing daydreams as a teenager, so I'm planning from scratch: I don't have set colors, or songs, or a dress or hairstyle or anything! Perhaps I should have day dreamed about it longer so when the time came, I'd have some ideas!
Be sure that I'm going to now be posting lots of wedding-idea and/or inspired posts, hope you all don't get as bored or tired of me as I do when listening to others plan their weddings...I've now become "that woman"!

Valentines Morning...

Hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day - yet with that wish, don't get me wrong: I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day. I believe it's commercialized, yet helps businesses including small businesses earn more money which is important. I usually don't partake, but this year is different. Chris is apparently a big fan of the V Day, so we celebrate...wait until you get to the last picture to see what's helped me change my mind...

I went to World Market and got a mixture of Cajun-style foods. I got him a gumbo and jambalaya mix, Louisianna hot sauce, and Cajun hot spices with an assortment of hot snacks. I also got him three different kinds of German beer.
I did good with the above beer...apparently it's his favorite German beer.

Oops. The Valentines card I got him had "husband" on the front...I didn't pay enough attention, apparently, when I bought it! We had a good laugh over that and told each other "next year!"

And now for my surprise...a picnic basket...a few bottles of wine...cheese...an adorable pink poodle (favorite color, favorite dog), some faux roses and some real roses to plant, and crackers. Odd you might say? Well, the crackers are called Golden Gate crackers. Get it? Are you with me? We're going to San Francisco today for a picnic at the beach...that's my Valentines present!! I have the BEST boyfriend, ever!

Snow Day

Silly Video

Like I mentioned before, I now have video on my camera, which is awesome, so I'll be posting a ton of fun videos. This video was taken after we spent the day in the snow, then came home, took hot baths and waited for our yummy ham dinner to cook. These girls are so fun, I love them :o). And yes, we are always this silly.

Valentines, Kid Style

We had our Valentine gift-exchange this morning as the kids are spending the weekend with their grandma...

My fun gifts from the kids :o)

The girls with their balloons from dad.

Dad with his gift from Thomas...he's showing that he can be manly, even while holding a cartoon box shaped like a heart...hahaha.

Thomas giving dad his gift. Dad on the phone, as usual.

The girls with their Valentine's treats. I made sure to give Zina a big-girl purse.

We'll see what tomorrow holds for the grown-ups!
