Things that make me Happy

Came across two pictures that I took two summers ago during a hike with some friends. Enjoy the beauty.

Wonky Eye

I noticed early this morning that my right eye in the corner was red, irritated looking. I figured I was just tired, so I drank more coffee and took off to work.
It was brought to my attention by a coworker that it's still red, like the blood vessels in my eye are broken.
Feeling like an ugly troll, I looked through my purse and found some red lipstick. I never wear lipstick, but figured I would put some on to draw the attention away from my rabbit-looking red eye.
So, great...Now my wonky red eye is an exact match to my lips.

Yet ANOTHER fabulous blog!

Until I can get my laptop back, I'm stuck giving props to other blogs besides my own! :o)

Enjoy this one, too!

Christmas & Vacation

Christmas this year was absolutely gorgeous. I will be posting pictures just as soon as I get my laptop back from the laptop doctor - I got a new camera (Thanks baby!) so I will be posting lots of fun Christmas pictures and some videos, too!

This is going to be a short week at work again, then we have the kids on New Years Eve, then I'm driving Chris to the airport as he is leaving the country for military duty. I'm very much looking forward to having the house to myself for two whole weeks! No cooking, only cleaning up after myself, no having to share the big screen television, lounging around in my pajamas once I'm home, and pure QUIET BLISS!
Thought I'd share this cute little picture I found online ----->

Day of Christmas Eve

First of all, blessings to all of you, and your families on this beautiful holiday.
Christians celebrate the birth of Christ at this time, although Bible studiers have noted that his actual birth should be in the Spring time.
Either way, I acknowledge the birth of Christ at this time of year, and say "Happy Birthday, Jesus!"
Today is going to be a very busy day - working a half day (thanks, boss!) then have to go grocery shopping to prepare for the two gatherings we are having this weekend. Thank goodness I'm completely done with Christmas shopping! I'm so excited to have the girls over, children really do keep the magic of Christmas alive to us old Grinches!
Blessings to all of you!!

Christmas Shopping

After dinner last night (chicken enchiladas, salad, fried rice, YUMMY!) Chris and I went to the Dollar Store to get some stockings and a few stocking stuffers for the kids - and Missy, of course (actually, getting her a stocking was Chris' idea. I get Missy a gift every year for Christmas, he wanted to make sure she was included in a gift from Santa!).
I need to do the rest of my Christmas shopping this weekend - the weekend before Christmas.
I realize that is a very stupid thing to do, but due to the days payday comes, it's a necessity.
I have to go to the mall to get Chris' gifts, then to Ross, then to Safeway (to get gift cards), it will be crazy!! I hereby nominate myself an idiot for Christmas shopping the weekend before Christmas!

Are You My Mommy?

One of the kids is having some homework issues.
I, myself, love doing researching and/or projects. This benefits, as I need to try and figure out where exactly this child is having issues. Bored in class? Instructions from teacher not clear? Too much freedom?
I've been emailing said child's teachers to get the input as to what the issue is. Said child has not been entirely truthful, telling us there is no homework when in fact...there is homework!
It was informed to us "grown-ups" (I use perenthesis because I still don't quite feel like one) that maybe one of the issues could be a particular teacher. I email the principal, then talk to him on the phone in my most mature, grown-up voice. I then email the teacher with my ten dollar eloquent words and set up a meeting for dad and child. Dad then tells me he wants me to go to the meeting. Can you believe it?! I'm actually meeting with a child's teacher (a child that's kinda sorta in a way, mine) to talk academics, and home life working in harmony so said child can learn and do homework in clean, safe environments, and what sir, can his father and I do to help?
Oh my gosh, I'm mind-boggled by it. Me, Miss Irish, a grown-up? With a partner and children? Doing responsible things? That's crazy.
So...what should I wear?!

Movies

I love movies. Don't go as often as I used to. Absolutely CANNOT wait to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. He's so dark and clever, and I love Helena Bonham-Carter. She's edgy, quirky and just plain weird and I LOVE HER!

Little Things

I love this picture so much I have to share it...Christmas is obviously on the brain (my absolute FAVORITE holiday!), and I was thrilled to find out last night that BOTH of Chris' girls believe in Santa Claus!
I was eight years old when I stopped believing and that was only because I over-heard a conversation at school by accident. I remember so vividly who it was that said it, she told another classmate, "Besides, everyone knows Santa Claus is your parents." I was heartbroken! I got to re-live a little through my niece, but not for very long. As I said, I'm thrilled there are two little ones that can bring back the special magic of Christmas this year! :o)
Once my laptop is fixed, I have a ton of pictures to upload and will do lots of fabulous little blogs that I do so well! :o)

Thankful

I am thankful for many things in my life: There is so much beauty and a little bit of ugly, but it's all for me and to make me who God intends me to be:
I'm thankful for my family, the ones who love me in spite of me, and the ones that do not. You most certainly cannot choose your family and you cannot change your family but God bless 'em anyway.
I'm thankful for my friends, the closest ones are the ones I don't get to see or hear from that often, but they are always in my heart. I'm thankful for new friends and they way they help me deal with every day littles.
I'm thankful for the beautiful relationship I am in now, despite grey days. The colorful days make the grey days bearable.
I'm thankful for Missy, who has always been there when no one else was. She has taught me to really love.
I'm thankful for my health.
I'm thankful for the health of my friends and family.
I'm thankful for all the gorgeous love in my life.
I'm thankful for the depression, for it's always a glorious, God-filled time of being out of it.
I'm thankful for the little things that truly are wonderful: a puzzle with a child, a laugh with a father, a joke with a friend, a reassuring touch from a lover, the prayer of a parent, a good home cooked meal with family, a welcoming into a new family, and most of all God's love. Thank you Lord for the bountiful blessings in my life, for they are too rich for me to deserve. I am not worthy, but I praise you for believing I am.

New house/Thanksgiving/Still sick laptop

Just checking in since it's been awhile since I posted anything.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, obviously. Not exactly my favorite holiday, it never really has been. I am thankful for everything EVERYDAY, so for only one day out of the year for anyone to be thankful for anything is silly. So what else is there? Football and eating all day? I do that every day! :o) But Chris' family is coming, he's taking care of about 90% of everything, so that is a huge load off and a relief...especially since...we just moved!
We now live in this gorgeous, two-story town house that I love! The neighborhood is ok, neighbors have waved, although our parking space is taken by a run-down pickup truck with a flat tire.
There is still a bit of unpacking to do but that can all be finished tonight. Chris has been really fair in listening to my furniture and wall hanging ideas and we've compromised on a few things, so the new house is really coming together.
Laptop is still down, which I'm very sad about. I just miss being able to get online anytime I want, look at blogs, study recipes, watch my shows, read facebook, etc. Hopefully soon Chris can fix it!
Hope you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving! Don't forget to thank the Lord for the blessings in your life, and let your friends and family know how much you love them!

Sickly

So my poor little laptop has a virus! I'm devastated. I've been telling myself to do more blogging, I've been looking at some super cute blog sites, so I'm definitely feeling inspired, and now, I'm stuck until it gets repaired! :o(
Hopefully Chris can work on it tonight some more, he wasn't able to figure anything out yesterday but he was constantly being interrupted by me, the girls, dinner preparations, etc. Say a little prayer for the healing of my laptop!

p.s. the trailer didn't work out

Trailer Trash...

I'm a little nervous...Chris was out on a job today and found a double-wide mobile home for "Free" and is wanting to take a drive out to Gridley tomorrow to have me take a look at it. He kept saying "Keep an open mind" so that means it's tore up from the floor up.
I admit we need the space. He's thinking of gutting it and rewiring and replumbing it, then adding an additional room for us to move into so we have more room. I agree, we do need more room. I don't mind so much living in a mobile home, I've done it before when I was in high school for about a year. He's wanting to find a trailer park with an opening to haul it then park it. But a wise woman once told me that the only thing trashy about living in a trailer is if it's in a trailer park. I own a BB Gun. I am afraid the woman above will one day be me.

3D

Funny story.
I get an email a few months back from one of the local movie theaters, asking me to take part of a survey.
It's all about 3D movies. Questions such as: Would I pay a few extra dollars to see a 3D movie? Would I even watch a 3D movie? I answered no to all questions. Don't see the point, don't want to spend the extra money. For taking part in the survey, they mailed me two movie tickets. SCORE!
Chris and myself finally get a free second, so we decide to go to the movies on Sunday. I wanted to watch the new Jim Carey movie, "A Christmas Carol." We arrive at the theater, my movie tickets clutched in my hand and they tell me I owe them two more dollars...the movie is in 3D! I just had to laugh at it all.
Well, needless to say the movie is absolutely wonderful, and I never want to watch anything BUT 3D!

Sick Bed...

The Halloween party this weekend went FABULOUS! More on that later...because unfortunatelly, right now I'm sick :o(
Not sure with what quite yet...went to bed last night with an awful itch in my throat, woke up to full-fledged soreness, then suffered throughout the day. By 4 p.m., my throat had it. So, either coming into strep throat or another sinus infection, which would be awful considering I just had a sinus infection at the beginning of the summer. I was on a very strong antibiotic, I'd hate to have to take more medication this year! My poor immune system!
So, tonight I'm just relaxing. I've posted a picture of my "sick bed" for those of you who are curious as to where I spend my miseries. You'll see a bucket with some yummy candy in it, some throat lozenges and other cold medicine Chris went out and got for me tonight. I have a few notebooks and a pen because I cannot talk without pain, so I've been writing notes to Chris. A book I was reading before Chris brought my laptop to me and hooked it up for me so I could watch movies...can't wait until I feel better, I have a how-to blog to post for some Halloween decorations I did this weekend, but no longer have energy...nite-nite!

Busy Friday...

Today is going to be a really busy day. Taking a quick break at work to jot all this down.
Have to go out of town (6o minutes round trip in the car!) during my extended lunch break to file some papers for Chris, then finishing up the rest of the work day.
At 5 p.m., I have to go home, give the dog a bath (what's with all the fleas in Chico?!) and prepare the crafts I have planned for the girls to do tonight. We're making ghost decorations to hang, and I think they would love to decorate the ghosts. I will be posting a how-to on that later!
Then dinner, which thankfully Chris has offered to shop for and prepare. Then more decoration hanging and some cleaning tonight, I want to get as much done today so tomorrow won't be rushed and stressful...it's a party, I want to enjoy it!
Then tomorrow, Chris and I will have our alone-time in the morning sipping our coffee and talking while the kids sleep. I remember waking up to that on Saturday and Sunday mornings - being woken up to the sound of my parents coversing with each other in the living room. I think of that each time Chris and I sit and chat, waiting for the kids to wake up. They may not realize it now, but in the future it will be a blessed memory for them to wake up to that :o)
More cleaning tomorrow (I can never clean enough!). I'll start preparing my food, setting up the food and drink table and then my girl friend will be coming over to help and get her items ready.
Chris is taking the kids trick or treating, so no doubt I'll be taking a million pictures of them. Luckily the girls are both hams and LOVE to have their pictures taken. I just found out the other day that the 5 year old girl loves to look in a mirror as much as I do. My soul mate!
Then by the time they all return, we should have a few people over enjoying food and drinks and each others company. Very much looking forward to it! Planning and preparing dinners and parties is totally in my element, so I'm a happy clam!

Nothing Better Than...

What on earth is better than what you see above? My all-time absolute favorite desert has always been, and will always be, dutch apple pie a la mode. Chris bought this pre-made pie some time last week with some vanilla ice cream. We just got home from a visit with his brothers, we ate KFC, and when I got home, a nice long hot bath, a book and a glass of chilled white wine was the perfect ending to a great visit. Then, I remembered...we still have pie! So I heated it up, topped with some ice cream, and am enjoying it slowly as I type!
I got the cute bowl at a Thrift store down the street from my house. It came with another bowl and a set of 4 plates. It's my favorite set so far. I'd love to build my dishes and serving dishes stash, so this will do for now!

Apron Time!

After looking thru some of my mom's craft magazines, and looking around on my new-found favorite blog (see below!), I found some gorgeous ideas for aprons! I thought to myself, how fun would that be?! I like to sew, and I think aprons are so classy, so fabulously 1950's housewife!
One idea I read from blog listed below is to recycle clothes around the house that maybe don't fit...that's so easy! I have a few skirts that are a bit too short for my stubby, chubby legs, yet they used to be my favorite skirts and I didn't have the heart to get rid of them. I took my favorite skirt, as you can see below.
Then, I cut it right in half, on the seam, as you can see it laid out on the table. I cut two long strips from the bottom, longer half, about 2" thick. Then I cut out a pocket. I seamed the two strips, which are the apron strings, seamed the skirt on the sides so it was even. Then, I sewed both ends of the strings on the sides.
Chris was kind enough to model for me so I could get a good direction as to where to place the pocket.
Last picture is the finished product! It's very simple...I'd say it took 30-45 minutes total to sew. Not too bad with no pattern, huh?
Can't wait to tackle a more elaborate apron, I think they would make beautiful Christmas gifts!

I smile

I heard a song on the Christian radio station the other day that has onelittle powerful line that I can't get out of my head. The guy is singing that he smiles when he thinks about how far he's come, where he is today to compared to yesterday, he smiles when he thinks of whatGod has done for him. He just thinks of it and all he can do is smile. While listening, I realized I was smiling. And I've made sure to thank theLord every day for what He's given me. I don't have two pennies to rubtogether, but God has been good: I have a home that's warm, cozy and alwaysfull of food. I have a car that despite a big dent, drives great and keepsme warm in the winter and cool in the summer.I have the sweetest little puppy that quietly accepts when I'm not in themood or don't have time for a walk or a snuggle and gives me my space. Thenshe is always there, right where we left off, happier than ever to give melove and kisses I most of the time don't deserve from anybody.I have a family that, despite issues with siblings sometimes, I wouldn'ttrade them for anything or anyone.I started with a wonderful friend who turned into an awesome boyfriend whohas seen worse of me than anyone including my family, and still loves me. Imess up, I burn food, I can't remember a joke to repeat and often ruin thepunch line, I trip if I blink while walking, I'm not very patient and can becontrolling. He smiles, chuckles to himself, and says, "You have no ideahow much I love you."I now have a little part-time family of my own that used to look at me likeI was some strange, redhead with too much coffee in her system, and made meso insecure I couldn't be myself around them. Now, I'm as silly as I want to be and they think it's hilarious.I have a little girl that wants to whisper in my ear that she loves me, andruns to tell me she pooped so I can jump up and down and high-five her. Sheliterally screams with delight.I have a boy that wants to cook for me and show me his computer games that Idon't understand and speak in different languages with me, even ones I makeup, and he just smiles and tolerates me quietly and patiently like his dad.I have another littler girl that just stares at me: sometimes in shock, sometimes in awe, and it irritates me. Until I realize she constantly asksme for my opinion, wants to play games with me and only me, not even dad,and loves to go through my scarves, jewelry and shoes, and shares that incommon with me. She stares not only because I'm usually the loudest one,but because I know she is studying me, getting used to me and trying to knowme in her own way. This is my blessed life. And I smile.

Bloggy Blog Blog

Just checking in on this chilly, fall day.
Spent the weekend with my parents, got my mom started on a blog - check it out: http://sisll-linda.blogspot.com/
My mom loves to scrapbook, so I helped her create the blog to show off her work to her friends and family and give her some space to teach a "how-to" to simulate the craft blogs she likes to look at.
Spent Sunday playing with the girls, watching Chris take a nap between football games, had a good dinner and went to bed early. Yesterday was a busy day at work as I was sick last week, so I had a lot of catch-up to do. Went grocery shopping with Chris and we talked about the holidays: Trying to figure out a schedule for us to spend time with the kids, and plans we have for the up-coming holidays. Had steaks, baked potatoes, salad for dinner, which was delish. Settled in to watch "The Brothers Bloom" (great movie, love Adrian Brody!) with apple pie and coffee liquors. Tonight, Thomas makes dinner, so we'll see how that turns out! :o)

Desperate Housewife?

I just got back from lunch, I took out pork chops to thaw for dinner tonight, then settled in to watch Desperate Housewives. I LOVE that show! It took me until about season 3 to actually get into it, and now I am addicted! I love the comedy, for the most part they have cute clothes, GORGEOUS hair, and there's always something creepy and mysterious on the show. Soooo happy they play free episodes on abc.com! Check 'em out!

Fall around the House...

Chris and I have been busy this weekend - he's doing major projects (re-building the storage room door, taking out window A/C's, etc) and I've been shopping and decorating. I posted a few pics of the new window treatments I set up and the new lay-out for the dinner table. Very happy with how they turned out! Looking forward to a little bit more small decorations around the apartment today in between blogging and cleaning :o)
Was looking at some video blogs yesterday, found a cute one called TMI Weekly on youtube. I'd love to merge into a video blog, just as soon as I get a camera that has audio. Hope you all have a great Sunday, talk soon!

Crafty Me!

Crafty Kimberly!
I've realized I miss being the crafty little person I once was! I was a writer, a painter, a scrapbooker (kind of), made flower pins, sewed, used to LOVE sewing lace on hankies, etc. I miss that! My grandma and my mom are very crafty and gifted with creativity, and I know it's in me, too, I think it's just lack of passion. If you really love something, you won't let anything get in the way of it. My attention span (or lack thereof) doesn't necessarily allow me to sit and do something for so long, but I used to be there. I'm showing a picture of a present I wrapped for some friends' housewarming party. Very simple, but I had a blast adding a few personal touches. Chris and I are child-free this weekend, so I have some crafty ideas up my sleeve...making some pillows for our couch and a few other pretties. Will post pics!

Fall!

Been busy thinking about the upcoming Halloween Party a girl friend and I are hosting at my house this year. I've decided to keep it small and intimate, there will be children there, so a too-crowded house is NEVER fun!
Been thinking about some appetizers I want to make since we will be having finger foods. Parties are fun! I love planning, preparing and hosting - always have, always will! Maybe it's just another part of me that likes to be in control, as Chris thinks I'm so fond of that :o)
If you have any ideas for kid & adult games to play, let me know! I'll be trolling some websites later to get some ideas.

Finally Fall

Walked out to my car this morning, keys and coffee in hand, to head to work. I realized it's chilly and overcast! I LOVE this weather!
It's really starting to feel like fall, as of today. This is by far my favorite time of year, the leaves are starting to turn gorgeous colors, time to get sweatshirts and scarves out, and drinking cocoa.
I'm very much in my element with the fall weather the way it is right now...happy Fall everyone!

Sunday

Leaving in about an hour to get Chris from the airport - I've been busy all morning: cleaning, cooking dinner (so it's ready for us when we get home), making cheesecake and trying to squeeze in some relaxing time!
Started watching Eastwick on abc.com. So far, it's pretty cute. I love Lindsay Price, loved her in Lipstick Jungle (why on earth was that show cancelled?!) so I'm excited to see her in another show.
Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday, whether it be watching football all day, sleeping, watching movies, cuddling up with a good book, have a good one!

Solitude

To be alone is to know ones self, and that is delicious.

Saturday

Dropped Chris off at the airport yesterday, the drive home was fine, but I got pulled over and got a ticket. I was speeding on 149, the CHP was very nice and polite, long story short, I got a long lecture and a ticket for having my seatbelt off when being pulled over...not for speeding. He said if he gave me a speeding ticket for the mileage I was going, the ticket would be over $300. WHEW! God bless the CHP!
Let Chris know when he called me later last night, at first he thought it was funny, then he was worried, now he doesn't want me driving his truck anymore :o(
Had a great nights' sleep after a 3 hour nap yesterday, so I started working in the shed. Got up this morning around 9:30 to watch a little bit of America's Next Top Model and wake up...and now I'm just a bit over halfway done in the shed! Very excited, will post pictures when complete.
Hope you all are enjoying your Saturday morning!

Shopping: Forever 21/Faith 21

Newfound Love - Forever 21!
Stopped by the mall last night to cash in two super cool gift cards I got in the mail: 1 for a free pair of panties at Victoria's Secret and 1 free small lotion at Bath & Body Works. Score!
Stopped through Forever 21, ran into my girl friend Angela and we roamed the isles together...it's huge! The same Gottschalks building, so nothing but cute clothes, accessories, small sections for purses and shoes. Just about EVERYTHING I saw, I loved! The accessories are enormous, bold, gorgeous! Cute flower pins, bracelets, necklaces, and huge rings that I love. Shoes and purses weren't that big of a selection, but I did find some sandals I liked, but Angela said she wouldn't hang out with me if I wore them :o)
So then, here's the best part...the have a section of the store for us curvy mama's. The clothes are called Faith 21. Oh my goodness. The CUTEST tops, skirts and dresses! Big selection of cute dresses that are more dressy than a regular Saturday afternoon. I didn't buy anything, but all day at work I kept thinking of this cute red and black plaid shirt with super cute feminine ruffles on the front that didn't make it look so butch. I went back on my lunch hour, but unfortunatelly they sold out! :o( I did find a pink and white shirt that is exactly the same, you all know I love pink so I'm still thrilled. Plus - on sale for $8.99! :o)
I will now officially be buying all of my accessories there.
Best thing that happened to Chico (and my closet) is Forever 21!

Computer Games: Dorks

I'm a little concerned that I just spent the past 3 1/2 hours playing a computer game. My boyfriend turned me into a dork.

This is Missy's Idea of Helping me Clean

Music: Falling Down

So...just about every celebrity is coming out with their own fragrance, clothing line, shoe line, jewelery line, etc. Singers are becoming actors, actors are becoming singers. I'm certainly not helping by posting this video of Scarlett Johansson singing "Falling Down." I like it: her voice is raw, deep and edgy and the song itself is the quirky, independant type I like...enjoy!

My Relaxing Weekend

Thought I'd take a minute to write a bit about my boring, non-eventful weekend that I'm REALLY looking forward to!
After work today, I'm heading straight over to watch my niece play in-door soccer. I'll be a bit late as I get off work at 5 p.m., so I hope I don't miss too much of the game as it starts @ 4:45. Chris is meeting me there - Allyce is SOOO excited to show him her skillz (as she says! LOL).
Then, Chris has a softball game @ 7:10, then tomorrow morning he has to be up and on the road VERY early. His son is going to his mom's for the weekend, so I have the house ALL TO MYSELF ALL AFTERNOON! :o) Very much looking forward to that as I need to clean.
Sunday, I have planned for us to clean out the shed and haul all our camping gear neatly away.
WHEW! So excited for this boring weekend! :o)

Work?

I wonder why people have bad attitudes at work...it's not like we are family members, friends or in any other relationship.
We're co-workers. We are here for business. Me being where I'm at for 8 hours a day is to pay my bills. To help run a business that is not mine, but by being here and a part of it, makes it part of me.
Co-workers are strangers until brought together by a company. You may become friends with co-workers and go to lunch, share recipies, gossip and colds. The other option is the friendly "Good Morning!" while you're both passing each other in the hall, or asking how their weekend went on a bleary-eyed Monday morning.
I wouldn't go up to a stranger on the street and snap at them, or give them attitude. I don't know them. They are not a part of me or my life. They don't know my secrets or my home life. I don't work for my co-workers nor do they work for me. We work WITH each other.
Calm the 'tudes, dudes!

My little girl

My little girl, Missy. I got mt little sweetheart from the SPCA. I highly recommend any animal lovers to get an animal from their local pound. Unfortunatelly, the county I live in does euthanize the animals that can't find loving, caring homes. After having her for a little over two years, I cannot imagine how I could have coped with all the crazy in my life without her. She grounds me, she gives me a reason to go out and get some fresh air during a nice walk when some days, I just want to stay indoors with the shades drawn and nothing but silence and alone. I saved her life, as she did mine!

Modern Day Martyr

I'm so tired - I didn't get much sleep last night, so I'd love to go home after work and take a nap.
Thing is, Chris has a softball game at 6 p.m., I'll be in the hot sun until about 7:30, then no doubt will he want to hang around for nearly an hour drinking beer and chatting with the other players.
I enjoy watching him play, but mostly go because he likes me to go.
If I complain about it, clearly not something I want to go to tonight, yet go anyway, am I making myself a modern day martyr?

Always speak your mind...even if your voice shakes

It's ok to say what is on your mind. It's ok to have an opinion, a theory.
The Lord gave us a voice, a choice, free-will, and for most of us, strong-will!
I am learning how to have an issue, and speak on it. I am learning how to have an opinion, and place it respectfully. I am learning that when I am upset or bothered, the best thing to do is talk about it, get it out in the air, "pop the pimple" so to speak. Get it out, get it over with. Not everyone will be happy, and many will use words that hurt, tell you that your opinion does not matter, or not even say a word and make you feel like your opinion doesn't matter.
Now, I'm not talking about being a loud-mouth. I'm not talking about having a bad attitude and telling everyone off, from the mailman to your mother. But your beliefs are yours, they are you. Whether it be religion, politics, relationships, or your morals in general, hold firm to them. Stick up for yourself. Let the world know that you are unique in your thoughts and words. Always speak your mind, even if your voice shakes!!

Currently Addicted To...

There are 4 websites I'm currently addicted to, think you should check them out when you have a chance! (these are in no particular order)
1. Perezhilton.com - If you like to stay current on celebrity gossip (as I do!) this is the perfect place to visit. I log on once a day, I absolutely HAVE TO! The website is maintainted by a sweet little gay boy named Mario who goes by Perez Hilton, so keep in mind he can be a bit graphic with his opinions, and half the celeb pictures/comments are not safe for work, or as he will pre-warn NSFW! He also has great music, as he's an avid music lover. If you like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, as I do, this guy actually gave them both a lot of exposure and they are not personal friends of his (as well as Mika, and other singers). Like I said, great place for celebrity gossip.
2. Cocoperez.com - This website is also maintained by Perez Hilton, and is more centered on fashion. Same great gossip, tho, but he focuses on which designers are lowering prices, celeb photo shoots, new fragrances, celeb styles.
3. Postsecret.com & Post Secret on Twitter - People write their secrets on post cards, then mail them to this guy, Frank Warren. He posts new secrets every Sunday, and has...I want to say 5 or 6 books published of these secrets. They are very arty and poetic, which is why I like them. I have a twitter account, but I usually have way too much to say for a little twitter, so I blog :o)
I do follow post secret on twitter, but not obsessively.
4. msnbc.com - with all the gossip/art talked about, I do love to keep up on current events, so I make sure I check out videos and articles everyday from this website. It's important to know what's going on in our world at the moment to keep up on things.

Hope you all have time to take a peek at some of my favorite websites and enjoy them as I do! Warning: Some may be addicting! :o)

Day After Birthday

Using my first blog to reflect on the fact I am now 28 years old.
Where the heck has my life gone?!
Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with my life, I'm satisfied but not content (to be content would be the worst, I always want to strive for bigger, better, more!), I have a wonderful boyfriend whom I am deeply in love with, he has three great children I am learning about, and they are learning about me.
I like my job, although it's not a career. I don't read nearly enough, and am dying to get back into my creative writing workshop (maybe by the end of this year!). I will be busily writing, writing, writing, to have plenty of material for the class.
So...if any of this sounds interesting to you, then I encourage you, please keep reading! I will try and post as often as I can, so keep coming back for blogs, pictures, jokes, stories, etc.
